St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina (1887–1968), an Italian Capuchin friar, was renowned for his extraordinary spiritual gifts: the stigmata, miraculous healings, and most famously — bilocation (being present in two places at once).

Witnesses from all over the world claimed to have seen Padre Pio even though he never physically left his monastery in San Giovanni Rotondo.

During World War II, pilots reported seeing a mysterious friar appear in the sky, preventing them from bombing the village.

Later, they recognized the figure as Padre Pio.

Many faithful and clergy testified that Padre Pio appeared to them in distant places to console, warn, or heal them — while at the very same time, he was seen praying quietly in his monastery.

This miraculous gift of bilocation revealed his deep union with God and his mission to be a spiritual guardian for those in need.
